Associate of Science Degree

The online Medical Assisting - Administrative Associate of Applied Science Degree program provides students with learning experiences to help develop those skills and attitudes necessary to excel in the medical office. Successful Medical Assisting students can gain a thorough knowledge of modern office administration, practices, and procedures. The Medical Assisting - Administrative program provides the students an education that is competency based and assessed according to the entry-level field requirements. This online Medical Assisting degree program also provides graduates the general education necessary to manage interpersonal and social situations by preparing them to advance in their professional and personal life. These online classes are designed for full-time students to complete the program in 18 months.

Completion of Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required of all Diploma and Associate of Science Degree Medical Assisting students. The Medical Assisting Diploma and Associate of Science Degree programs are designed to prepare students to apply to take three (3) national certification exams: National Certified Medical Office Assistant (NCMOA), National Certified Insurance and Coding Specialist (NCICS), and the National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA). These exams are available through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), an independent certification organization.
